Teen Convicted Over Fatal Stabbing of 15-Year-Old Harvey Willgoose at Lunchtime

Posted on August 12, 2025 By admin

Harvey Willgoose, 15, was fatally stabbed during lunch at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield. A fellow 15-year-old student was

found guilty after CCTV showed him with a knife in the canteen. The boy admitted causing Harvey’s death but denied murder, claiming years

of bullying and fear. Prosecutors cited his obsession with weapons, supported by images on his phone, and argued the act was deliberate. After 14 hours of

deliberation, the jury reached an 11–1 majority verdict. Sentencing will be in October, when the court will decide whether to reveal his identity.

Harvey’s sister Sophie described him as warm and funny, thanking those who comforted him in his final moments and pledging

to work on prevention efforts. His mother, Caroline, recalled him proudly asking, “Mum, are you proud of me?”

before school that day. She now campaigns for school knife arches and more open discussions about weapon dangers.

The family is creating “Harvey’s Hub,” a safe youth club aimed at helping teens rebuild social confidence post-pandemic. Harvey’s father,

Mark, said their mission is to stop other families from enduring the same pain, ensuring Harvey’s legacy promotes unity and positive change.
