A passerby who assisted a Florida sheriff’s deputy during an altercation will not face charges.
Officials determined Ashad Russell acted lawfully in helping Deputy Dean Bardes on Interstate 75.
Bardes had stopped Edward Strother for speeding when a physical struggle ensued. Russell, a licensed
firearm holder, intervened after warnings were ignored. Authorities concluded his actions were
justified to prevent harm. The case is now closed, though Strother’s family has questioned the outcome….
