New Updates in Annunciation Catholic Church Case

Posted on August 30, 2025 By admin

Minneapolis continues to grieve following the tragedy at Annunciation Catholic Church, where two children lost their lives and several others were injured. Investigators are piecing together details of the suspect’s life and

examining evidence to better understand what led to the incident. Federal agents have expanded their inquiry to multiple states, while family members of the suspect have issued statements of sorrow but declined direct

cooperation. The two young victims, Fletcher Merkel, 8, and Harper Moyski, 10, are remembered for their joyful spirits and the love they brought to their families and community. Fletcher’s father described him as an energetic

boy who loved sports, fishing, and cooking. Harper’s parents spoke of her kindness, laughter, and the close bond she shared with her younger sister. Both families say their memories will live on in the hearts of many. In total, 18

others were injured, most of them children, but all are expected to recover thanks to the quick response of staff and students. Families and officials have praised the bravery shown that day, crediting these actions with preventing

an even greater tragedy. Vigils and memorials across Minneapolis have since drawn thousands, as the community gathers in shared grief and solidarity. Through their pain, the families of Fletcher and Harper have called for

action on safety and mental health, urging leaders to take meaningful steps to prevent future tragedies.

They want their children remembered not for what happened, but for the joy, love, and hope they gave during their short but meaningful lives.
