Hurricane set to hit the US has become ‘unsurvivable’ as experts wa:rn of catastrophic impact

Posted on January 2, 2025 By admin

South Florida is entering a La Niña winter, which could impact the region and the 2025 hurricane season. A weak La Niña was expected during the 2024 hurricane season, but elevated wind shear from El Niño and ENSO-neutral conditions slowed storm activity early on. However, Hurricane Beryl in June defied these factors, setting records for strength and timing.

A weak La Niña is forecast to persist through winter, potentially transitioning to ENSO and a weak El Niño before hurricane season. La Niña typically brings warmer, drier winters to Florida, while ENSO or weak El Niño leads to wetter winters. For hurricane season, El Niño-associated wind shear could limit tropical development, but other factors remain influential.
