Twelve years ago, Ilya Zhirnov and Kira Cherkasova, two young women from Cheboksary,
disappeared. Their car was recently found at the bottom of a river by an amateur diver.
The vehicle had been submerged for over a decade. Police identified the women using
surviving identity documents and discovered their bodies and personal belongings inside.
The initial theory is that they lost control of the car on an icy road and ended up in the river.
