Posted on August 21, 2025 By admin

Beloved American judge Frank Caprio, known as “America’s Nicest Judge” for his compassionate approach to justice,

passed away at 88 after a battle with pancreatic illness. His family confirmed he died peacefully and will be remembered as a devoted husband,

father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Caprio gained worldwide recognition through the show *Caught in Providence*,

where his kindness and empathy in handling minor infractions often went viral, earning him a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2021. He served as a Providence

judge from 1985 until retiring in 2023. Just hours before his passing, he shared a final hospital-bed message thanking supporters and asking for

prayers. First called to the bar in 1965, he became known not only for his rulings but for the compassion behind them,

also captured in his book *Compassion in the Court*. He is survived by his wife Joyce, five children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
