Entitled and spoiled, she got a new car and spa weekends while we lived off ramen.<\/p>\n

Her visits dripped with fake praise and backhanded jabs. One night, after hosting his parents for dinner, I overheard them<\/p>\n

talking: \u201cThe place was always meant for Lily,\u201d Paula said. \u201cThey did all the work for free.\u201d My heart broke. Alex wasn\u2019t even<\/p>\n
