This small animal\u2014generally measuring between 8 mm and 1.5 cm\u2014belongs to the genus Loxosceles.<\/p>\n
It has only six eyes, whereas most of its congeners have eight. Its velvety,<\/p>\n
light brown body merges easily into its surroundings.<\/p>\n
The brown recluse isn\u2019t aggressive. It prefers to hide rather than att.ack.<\/p>\n
