Dr. Hilary Jones, a well-known TV doctor, shared tips for maintaining heart health and warned
about habits that could increase the risk of heart attacks.

Dr Hilary Jones, the NHS GP famed for his appearances on ITV’s Lorraine and Good Morning Britain,

has divulged some vital tips for maintaining heart health, including a stark warning about a common habit that ‘doubles the risk’ of a heart attack.

In a video posted on Healthspan’s Instagram page, the 71 year old doctor is seen brandishing

a model heart, telling his audience: “Take a look at this, this is exactly what your

heart looks like.” He continued, emphasizing the importance of heart care: “I think you’ll agree,

considering what it does for you, that it’s worth looking after.”

The seasoned physician highlighted the dangers of being overweight, advising:

“Don’t strain it [your heart] by carrying too much weight, exercise it regularly – it’s a muscle – it loves a bit of exercise.” He also cautioned against allowing cholesterol to ‘clog up your heart’.

In his message about a widespread habit, Dr Hilary warned: “Don’t smoke, your heart hates that,”

and then queried his viewers: “What do you do to look after your heart? “, reports Surrey Live.

The NHS underscores that smoking significantly increases the likelihood of developing

cardiovascular diseases, which encompass coronary heart disease and stroke.

It further notes that smokers are almost twice as likely to experience a heart attack in comparison to non-smokers.
