The Night We Found Insect Eggs in Our Salad

My friend and I went to a cozy city restaurant for a peaceful dinner, ordering a fresh salad with avocado and quinoa. At first, everything seemed perfect until she noticed tiny black specks scattered on her plate. We thought they were chia seeds or some trendy spice topping at first. But soon, we realized something was very wrong.

Those little specks weren’t seeds at all they were moving. We leaned in closer and saw tiny transparent spheres with dark dots inside, clearly insect eggs. Shock turned into panic as we called the waiter, who struggled to explain the horrifying discovery. Without hesitation, we rushed to the hospital, worried about what we might have ingested.

At the hospital, doctors ran tests and gave us medication just in case, warning us to watch for symptoms. The restaurant tried to blame the incident on a supplier or “technical error,” but their excuses felt hollow. Our trust in the place vanished completely after that night of fear and uncertainty. Now, even the sight of chia seeds brings back the memory of that terrifying dinner.
