Pregnant and Determined: How I Built Our Baby’s Crib When He Wouldn’t

Nine months pregnant and overwhelmed with nesting, Eloise was growing increasingly frustrated as her husband Tom kept putting off assembling their baby’s crib, leaving it untouched in the nursery and her feeling isolated.

Despite her aching body and exhaustion, she decided to take matters into her own hands, painstakingly building the crib herself, only to be met with Tom’s indifferent question of why she hadn’t just done it alone.

Hurt but determined, Eloise planned a wake-up call: she asked Tom to handle the preparations for a baby shower, handing him an impossible-to-manage list while she rested. As Tom scrambled in confusion and stress, Eloise quietly watched him struggle, finally understanding the weight she had carried alone.

When guests arrived to see the chaotic setup, Tom’s embarrassment was undeniable, especially after Eloise revealed she’d assembled the crib herself despite being heavily pregnant. That evening, Tom apologized sincerely, acknowledging how much he had taken her for granted, and promised to step up as a true partner, giving Eloise hope that together they could face parenthood.
