My Husband Divorced Me for My Inheritance – But My Mom Had the Last Laugh

When my mother passed away and left me her entire fortune, my husband Peter suddenly turned into the most caring man in

the world. But that sweetness didn’t last. The moment he realized I wouldn’t let him spend the inheritance, he became distant

and cold. Three weeks later, he asked for a divorce. Peter claimed we wanted “different things,” but it was clear he was furious

that he couldn’t access my mother’s money.

What he didn’t know was that Mom had seen right through him long ago. After her passing, her lawyer revealed she’d left me

over $400,000 but with a catch: I wouldn’t receive a penny unless I was divorced. The clause in her will specifically stated that

no spouse or third party could touch her estate.

When I showed Peter the document, he turned white. All his scheming had backfired. If we stayed married, the money would go

to charity. If we divorced, I’d get everything. We filed for divorce quietly, and soon after, I claimed my inheritance.

I moved into Mom’s house, renovated it, and took the solo vacations I used to only dream about. Peter thought he hit the

jackpot but my brilliant mother made sure the only prize he got was nothing at all.

Thanks, Mom. You saw the truth before I did and you saved me.
