My Husband Wants Me to Pay Child Support—for His Kid from a Previous Marriage

After finally earning a long-overdue promotion in healthcare, I was eager to share the news with my husband. But instead of

pride or congratulations, he demanded I use my raise to pay child support for his daughter—whom he barely saw. The shock of

his selfish request hit me hard, and the joy I felt quickly turned to hurt. I realized this was just the beginning of the trouble.

Chris argued that since I earned more now, it was only fair I cover the child support costs. But he hadn’t contributed financially

or helped much around the house for months. I was the one juggling late-night feedings, cleaning, and buying gifts for his

daughter. Refusing to pay felt like standing up for my own hard work and fairness.

Weeks later, I discovered Chris was secretly transferring money from our joint account to his ex-wife for child support. Feeling

betrayed, I reached out to her, and surprisingly, she was ready to team up against him. Together, we confronted Chris, exposing

his lies and deception. The betrayal was devastating, but it also gave me clarity.

I filed for divorce and focused on building a better life for my son and myself. Now, I use my earnings to support the family that

truly matters—my son and his sister, who still visits and means a lot to me. Chris lost the family he once took for granted,

and that’s a loss he’ll have to live with every day.
