He’s not alone on this adventure.

Along for the ride are his wife and their six children.

The family’s unique choice of abode?

A double-decker bus, transformed into a cozy home.

This isn’t just a quirky story; their home tour video has garnered a whopping 15 million views!

Stepping into the bus, the first thing you’ll notice is Dane’s office, right at the front.

Being in software, he has the luxury of working remotely, making this setup ideal.

As you move further in, you’re greeted by a farmhouse-style kitchen, complete with all the essentials: a spacious fridge, a two-burner stove, an oven, and even a full-size 30-inch sink.

But why just two burners, you ask?

Well, the family loves their Instapot and often cooks outside, enjoying the great outdoors.

One of the standout features of this bus-home is its brightness.

“One of the things we really love about this space is really all the windows.

The giant windows were one of the reasons why we bought the bus in the first place,” Dane reveals.

Behind the kitchen lies the dining area, spacious enough to accommodate the entire family.

A cleverly designed folding table emerges from behind the seating, optimizing space.

So, what prompted this drastic shift from a stationary home in Texas to a life on wheels?

“The real reason we wanted to try something new, so drastically different from something we’ve done before, is we felt so tied down to chasing money for happiness,” Dane reflects.

A road trip from Utah to Texas was the turning point.

Experiencing pure joy during the journey, Dane and his wife began exploring the RV lifestyle, eventually settling on the idea of converting a double-decker bus.

As the tour continues, Dane showcases the bus’s bathroom facilities.

Two separate toilets and a full-size shower ensure no morning queues.

The upper level houses a ventless washer-dryer combo and a unique appliance, the Sweepovac, which sucks in dirt and dust, keeping the bus spick and span.

Each kid has a bunk bed, allowing them to add their personal touch.

The rear of the bus serves a dual purpose: it’s both the children’s study area, stocked with homeschooling materials, and the parents’ bedroom.

By day, the king-size bed transforms into a play area for the kids.

The family’s bus home journey began in August 2020.

After purchasing the bus, they handed it over to the builders in September, and, by December 2021, their dream home was ready.

“Our plan is to chase 70-degrees. We don’t like cold weather, we don’t like hot weather. 70 degrees is the ideal, wherever that takes us,” Dane says.

They aim to spend two weeks in each of the lower 48 states over two years, with periodic evaluations to ensure the lifestyle still suits them.

One of the bus’s highlights is the roof deck.

Fitted with boat decking to prevent slips and surrounded by railings for safety, it’s the family’s private oasis.

The kids especially love it for movie nights under the stars.

Dane and his family have embarked on a journey many only dream of.

“We’re doing this to inspire others to take this leap. I never set foot in an RV before doing this. I think the reward is well worth the risk we’ve taken,” Dane says.

As the Eyerly family sets off on their incredible adventure, we can’t help but eagerly await updates on their journey.
