Steve Harvey’s candor about his life, especially his health, has made him one of the most adored figures in entertainment.

The longstanding host of Family Feud has been open about his health journey over the years, including all of the difficulties that have arisen.

“I go to the gym. But I got grandkids now and I was in the basement playing with them. I was in a bean bag chair, and one of my grandkids came by and said, ‘Papa! Chase me!’ And I couldn’t get out [of] the bean bag chair,” he recalled during a January 2023 appearance on The View.

He continued: “The bean bag was whooping my a–. And when I finally got up [off] the chair, my sons were laughing at me. And my sons are not allowed to laugh at me. And so it was shocking, so I said, ‘I gotta do something about it … I gotta lose some weight. I gotta get healthy.’”
