If You See A Man With A Painted Fingernail, Here’s What It Means

The “Polished Man” movement encourages men to paint one fingernail

to raise awareness about child se.xu.al abuse. This initiative,

started by Elliot Costello after meeting a young abuse survivor in Cambodia,

symbolizes solidarity with children affected by abuse. The painted nail represents the fact that 1 in 5 children will,

experience sx.ual violence. The movement urges men to take responsibility for

challenging harmful behaviors, as most perpetrators of abuse are male.

Through visibility and dialogue, the campaign aims to foster a safer

world for children, providing support for survivors and promoting change in societal attitudes toward abuse.
