“Best by” labels on canned foods, like corn, green beans, and tuna,

indicate peak quality, not an expiration date. These foods can often

be consumed safely after the labeled date if stored properly. Canned Corn

and Green Beans: Last 1-2 years beyond the “best by” date in a cool, dry place,

with gradual changes in quality. Canned Tuna: Safe for 3-5 years past the

“best by” date, but may experience some quality degradation. Safety:

Check for can damage, like bulging, rust, or leaks, and dispose of anything

with unusual odors or appearance. Storage Tips: Store in a cool, dry,

dark place, keep cans upright, and use a rotation system.
