She Was A Famous Actress Who Appeared In Around 100 Films, But One Tragic Mistake Drastically Altered Her Appearance

Lyn May, the Chinese-Mexican showgirl known as “The Goddess of Love,” captivated audiences and starred in nearly 100 films. However, a botched Botox procedure in the 1990s dramatically altered her appearance. Instead of the desired results, she was left with disfiguring lumps on her face. “I was given injections of water, baby oil, or cooking oil,” she revealed, highlighting the tragic outcome of the procedure.

Born Lilia Guadalupe Mendiola Mayares in 1952, Lyn’s early life was challenging. She married an American sailor, but after five years, she divorced him due to allegations of abuse. Moving to Acapulco, she found fame as a dancer and quickly became a prominent figure in Mexican cinema, especially in the Ficheras film genre.

Lyn’s personal life was marked by tragedy. After her second husband, Antonio Chi Su, died of cancer in 2008, Lyn admitted, “I dug him up and slept beside him,” as she struggled with her grief.

In 2021, Lyn made headlines by announcing her pregnancy at 68, but it was later revealed to be a publicity stunt. Despite her challenges, Lyn May remains a symbol of resilience and glamour in Mexican pop culture, embodying the complexities of fame and the pursuit of beauty.
