Pat Sajak’s final ‘Wheel of Fortune’ episode has an airdate

After 43 years as host of Wheel of Fortune, Pat Sajak‘s final episode of America’s game has been set.

Sajak’s reign as host of the iconic game show will come to an end in June, per reports.

According to NewsNation, the 77-year-old game show host, who has already recorded his final episode, will appear on the show for the final time on June 7.

Leading up to his last episode, Wheel of Fortune will air a series episodes of titled “Thanks for the Memories” in honor of the longtime host.

Last summer, Sajak announced his plans to retire after the show’s 41st season.

“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” he said at the time. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.”

Shortly after Sajak announced his retirement, Ryan Seacrest was named the new host of Wheel of Fortune with Vanna White continuing her post on the game show.

“I am truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak. I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them,” said last summer.

I will certainly miss Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune! He’s the only host I’ve known. But I also can’t wait to see how Ryan Seacrest will handle the job.
